In a twist of events, this movie doesn’t try to complete the game in record breaking time (although it’s still pretty darn fast). Instead, it proves that the game can be completed without running. It’s an enjoyable watch because there are so many spots where you just know Mario’s not going to make it across one of those huge chasms or through a tight cluster of enemies, and yet somehow, he always does.
