This has got to be, by far, one of the hardest accomplishments to attain in the wonderful World of Warcraft. It will literally take at least one year to finish because it requires seven complete seasonal achievements to unlock: To Honor One’s Elders (Lunar Festival), Fool For Love (Love Is In The Air), For The Children (Children’s Week), The Flame Warden/Keeper (Midsummer), Brewmaster (Brewfest), Hallowed Be Thy Name (Hallow’s End), and Merrymaker (Winter Veil). Of those seven, one of the objectives in Brewmaster is to “Sample 12 beers in the Brew of the Month club” which of course means you need to log in at least once a month for twelve months just to collect your beer. So, as far as I know, if you missed this past September’s Brewfest or didn’t pick up a Brew of the Month membership, you’re out of luck for at least two years.
The reward for a year’s worth of your time? A Violet Proto-drake to call your own, which is a flying mount with a 310% speed increase. It’s a nice reward, but I’m not convinced it’s that nice. I’d rather have extra character slots or pre-paid game cards or $20,000, you know, something I could use - not just more eye candy. I have to admit, though, it’s a pretty smart way for Blizzard to rake in more cash from those of us who feel inclined to see this through to the bitter end.
Now, a good majority will ask: “Why the heck would you dump a year’s worth of time and money into a flying mount?” The answer is simple: to have something unique that makes you stand out from the millions of other players. This flying mount has the potential to be as rare as the Swift Nether Drake or the Ashes of Al’ar. So if you enjoy having hard to acquire stuff that the majority of WoW players will never own, going after this achievement is a no brainer, regardless of the time requirement.
