Sonic’s back! This time for the short-lived Sega/Mega-CD. Besides improved graphics and sound as compared to its predecessors, Sonic CD had an interesting level design in that each zone had a past, present, and future; by changing time periods and accomplishing some task, the rest of the zones of that stage would be altered in some way (each stage is comprised of three zones). For example, if you transported to the past in zone 1 and destroyed an Enemy Robot Transporter, less enemies would appear in zones 2 and 3. However, since this video is a speedrun, there’s not a lot of time warping, but there are a few signs scattered around labeled as ‘Past’ and ‘Future’ so that explains their purpose.
